Below are descriptions of the committees and an online sign up form. You can also sign up in the school lobby. All parents, teachers and staff are welcome!

Committee Descriptions

County Council:
This position is yearlong and is required to attend the County PTA meetings in the evenings and reports back to the Board any necessary information.

Committee Positions:
The chair positions work with the board members to plan & work events or programs. Time commitment varies for each committee and range from a month or so to yearlong. Some programs can be done from home and some require the ability to be in the school. Review each chair description for more information.

Adopt-A-Park Events
This position is responsible for coordinating the Adopt-A-Park events.  Curlew Creek PTA adopted Forest Run Park and is required to hold two park clean-ups/events each school year.

All Pro Dad & iMom
This position is responsible for coordinating the All Pro Dad & iMom events.  These are established programs that bring children and parents together in an environment that promotes a healthier bond through communication and program designed activities.

Book Club:
This yearlong commitment requires organizational skills and the ability to come into the school early once a week. This chair will work closely with parent volunteers, students and staff. The book club is open for all 3rd – 5th grade students. This chair also coordinates the annual Book Swap to take place at a designated PTA evening meeting.

Bowling Club:
This position runs through March & is responsible with coordinating the bowling participants and the bowling alley. Also, the chair needs to be available to attend the bowling events and plan the end of year celebration to take place at the last bowling Friday.

Box Tops:
This yearlong commitment can be done entirely from home. Collecting, counting, and mailing in box tops twice a year along with the monthly collection flyer are required of this position.

Communications:
This position is responsible and helps with ensuring the communication channel between the school, PTA and families.  This includes helping with the website (WordPress), newsletter (MailChimp), Facebook and flyers.

Fundraising:
This committee helps coordinate activities for our bigger fundraisers, such as Coyote Carnival and Move-A-Thon.  Members can choose one or mutiple fundraisers that they would like to pariticipate in the organizational activities of these fun events.

Math Superstars:
This yearlong commitment requires organizational skills to get the volunteer graders started at the beginning of the school year. The chair is responsible for monthly follow up with graders. For the most part this position can be done from home with the exception of getting started at the beginning of the year.

Reflections:
This National PTA program celebrates the arts and takes place in the fall. This chair position is a minimal time commitment and requires some organizational skills to get the flyers out and collect entries.

Secret Pal Program:
This yearlong commitment is responsible coordinating Secret Pals for the staff.  Teachers and staff will submit a request with information about themselves and they will be matched with a Coyote Family Member that request a secret pal.  At the end of the year, the chair will help coordinate a reval party.

Spirit Store:
This yearlong commitment is responsible for the ordering, organizing and selling of spirit items. This should be an outgoing, enthusiastic person who will help to promote school spirit.

Trunk or Treat:
This is a one night event that will occur in October. With the help of a committee that should be established, the chair is responsible for coordinating the particpants that will be in the Trunk or Treat as well as the food/drinks and any other activities that will be part of the event.

Veterans Day:
This is an event that will occur during school hours. With the help of a committee that should be established, the chair is responsible for coordinating the portions of the program that will include a guest speaker and music from our students.

Walk to School Day:
This position is perfect for someone that has mornings available right before the school bell rings.  This chair is responsible for coordinating the Wednesday and Friday walk-to-school days.  This includes walking from the corner of Curlew Road and Landmark Drive to walk over the bridge and token distribution to the children.

Yearbook:
This is a yearlong position that requires computer, graphic design and photography skills to put together the school yearbook.
