Specialty Chair Positions:
These Chair positions are considered standing board positions, invited to all Board meetings and also have a vote at each Board meeting. Each position requires a different amount of time and commitment.
This position is yearlong and is required to attend the County PTA meetings in the evenings and reports back to the Board any necessary information.
This position is yearlong and is responsible for documenting and organizing all PTA memberships. The Membership Chair also works with the National PTA to secure membership cards and distribute to members. The majority of the time commitment falls in the first few months of the school year.
The chair positions work with the board members to plan & work events or programs. Time commitment varies for each committee and range from a month or so to yearlong. Some programs can be done from home and some require the ability to be in the school. Review each chair description for more information.
This program is through the City of Clearwater Parks and Recreation Department’s Adopt-a-Park program. Curlew Creek adopted Forest Run Park. The chair would be responsible for coordinating at least 2 events a year with the City of Clearwater and our Curlew Creek families.
All Pro Dad & iMom
This position is responsible for coordinating the All Pro Dad & iMom events. These are established programs that bring children and parents together in an environment that promotes a healthier bond through communication and program designed activities.
This position helps coordinates activities for the four Astroskate events of the year. Responsibilities include helping collect permission forms and money and coordinating the bus chaperones.
Back to School Teacher Breakfast
This is a “Welcome Back” event for the teachers and staff. It takes place when the staff returns for the new school year (this is prior to the children beginning school). With the help of a committee that should be established, the chair is responsible for coordinating all the food, snacks, giveaways and PTA tables.
Back to School Open House/Orientation Night:
This position coordinates activities for Open House night that happens at the beginning of the school year. Responsibilities include coordinating the setup of the tables and scheduling the volunteers to work those tables. This event requires minimal time as it is only a two night event.
This yearlong commitment requires organizational skills and the ability to come into the school early once a week. This chair will work closely with parent volunteers, students and staff. The book club is open for all 3rd – 5th grade students. This chair also coordinates the annual Book Swap to take place at a designated PTA evening meeting.
This position runs through March & is responsible with coordinating the bowling participants and the bowling alley. Also, the chair needs to be available to attend the bowling events and plan the end of year celebration to take place at the last bowling Friday.
This yearlong commitment can be done entirely from home. Collecting, counting, and mailing in box tops twice a year along with the monthly collection flyer are required of this position.
This position can be done on an as-need basis. The includes helping update PTA bullentin boards and the outside front display case when new annoucements need to be added.
Commitment to Character:
This yearlong position requires a minimal monthly time commitment. Responsibilities include preparing parent notification and organizing the awards.
This position is responsible and helps with ensuring the communication channel between the school, PTA and families. This includes helping with the website (WordPress), newsletter (MailChimp), Facebook and flyers.
This is a one-night event for the Coyote Families. With the help of a committee that should be established, the chair is responsible for coordinating all the food/drinks, decorations and giveaways.
This committee helps coordinate activities for our bigger fundraisers, such as Coyote Carnival and Move-A-Thon. Members can choose one or mutiple fundraisers that they would like to pariticipate in the organizational activities of these fun events.
This position is responsible with promoting health and wellness through education, information, programs and/or community involvement.
This position coordinates the food/drink at Family Fun Nights and coordinates Parent Socials. This yearlong commitment requires a few hours a month.
This yearlong commitment requires organizational skills to get the volunteer graders started at the beginning of the school year. The chair is responsible for monthly follow up with graders. For the most part this position can be done from home with the exception of getting started at the beginning of the year.
This National PTA program celebrates the arts and takes place in the fall. This chair position is a minimal time commitment and requires some organizational skills to get the flyers out and collect entries.
Secret Pal Program:
This yearlong commitment is responsible coordinating Secret Pals for the staff. Teachers and staff will submit a request with information about themselves and they will be matched with a Coyote Family Member that request a secret pal. At the end of the year, the chair will help coordinate a reval party.
Spring Basket Auction:
This position requires organizational and communication skills to put together packages that will be auctioned off during the Science Olympiad night that takes place in the Spring. This chair will need to contact different businesses within the community to ask for donations that will make up the auctioned packages.
This yearlong commitment is responsible for the ordering, organizing and selling of spirit items. This should be an outgoing, enthusiastic person who will help to promote school spirit.
This position has a time commitment of about a month at the end of the school year. A committee should be established in order to divide the task. The week includes a midweek luncheon along with other items as decided by the committee. This program takes place during the school day and it is necessary for members of this committee to be in school during the week.
This position has about a one month time commitment and can be done from home. Organizational skills are a requirement to distribute/collect grant applications from teachers and review with administration to determine grant recipients.
Trunk or Treat:
This is a one night event that will occur in October. With the help of a committee that should be established, the chair is responsible for coordinating the particpants that will be in the Trunk or Treat as well as the food/drinks and any other activities that will be part of the event.
This is an event that will occur during school hours. With the help of a committee that should be established, the chair is responsible for coordinating the portions of the program that will include a guest speaker and music from our students.
Walk to School Day:
This position is perfect for someone that has mornings available right before the school bell rings. This chair is responsible for coordinating the Wednesday and Friday walk-to-school days. This includes walking from the corner of Curlew Road and Landmark Drive to walk over the bridge and token distribution to the children.
This is a yearlong position that requires computer, graphic design and photography skills to put together the school yearbook.
